This woman probably lives rent free in your head right now despite nobody knowing her name

In recent weeks, a British woman has unwittingly become a viral sensation, yet her name remains a mystery.

Even her face might not be familiar to the millions of social media users who have engaged with the trend she's at the heart of.

Confused? Trust me, we were too. But everything will soon become clear, we assure you.

The woman behind the online buzz, shown in the image above, is 43-year-old Zoë Lister, a voiceover artist who has recorded jingles for numerous major brands, especially travel companies.

In 2019, this Maidenhead, Berkshire native and mother-of-two was contacted by her voiceover agent with news that a particularly well-known air travel and holiday-making company was seeking a new voice artist.

This person's voice would be central to a brand new campaign promoting a £50 per person discount.

Is her identity becoming clearer? If not, perhaps you've been out of touch with recent trends.

For those needing a hint, Lister is the voice behind the notorious Jet2 holiday ads, whose audio clips have been widely circulated online recently.

You know, the 'nothing beats a Jet2 holiday' phrase?

Lister's voice accompanies Jess Glynn's 2015 hit 'Hold My Hand', featuring on television ads and online campaigns across the UK for over five years. It's also the voice passengers hear over the tannoy when boarding a Jet2 flight.

If you've been on TikTok recently, you're probably aware that this voiceover has found its way onto the video-sharing platform, with major content creators referencing it.

Mostly, the sound is paired with clips of vacation mishaps—like being thrown off a banana boat at high speed or arriving at a supposed 5-star hotel that doesn't actually exist.

You know, those holiday disasters that seem to only occur abroad?

Other users simply film themselves lip-syncing to Lister's lines.

Regardless, Lister seems unfazed by her voice's viral fame, even suggesting that travelers are 'absolutely sick' of hearing it on flights across Europe.

"It just kind of took off," she mentioned to the press recently. "They actually wanted me for the campaigns as well."

"And I thought, fantastic. It's been ongoing every year since then, which has been wonderful."

One slight annoyance for her, however, is that she hasn't received any perks from Jet2—not even free flights or discounted hotel stays.

"To be honest, I've never asked," Lister admitted. "I feel like I should say, 'Hey Jet2, how about a complimentary package holiday?' But I find it too awkward to ask for things. I'm afraid of being told no."

Reflecting on the trend, she added: "There are so many voiceovers out there, I don't know why mine has resonated with the public the way it has. Maybe it represents Britishness or something, I'm not sure!

"You'll have to ask Gen Z why they love it so much."
