Conjoined twins Brittany and Abby Hensel answer questions everyone wanted to know about their lives

Since their appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1996, conjoined twins Brittany and Abby Hensel have faced countless questions about their unique lives.

For those who may not know the sisters, Brittany and Abby were born in 1990 and quickly made global headlines due to sharing a single body. Remarkably, all of their organs below the waist, along with their blood supply, are shared.

This has made them arguably the world's most well-known conjoined twins, even leading to their own TV show, Abby and Brittany, which aired on TLC.

While the popular true-life series eventually concluded, and they stepped back from the public eye for a while, their celebrity status recently surged once more when it was disclosed that Abby had quietly gotten married.

In 2021, she wed her husband Josh Bowling, and their wedding photos, which of course included Brittany, quickly went viral online.

In a recent update this week, it seems the couple has welcomed their first child.

After a video surfaced last month showing Abby and Brittany walking to a car with a baby carrier, a new TikTok video shared by the twins appears to confirm that they've become parents.

Sharing a series of paparazzi photos from that moment in the specific clip, the twins simply captioned the video, 'Blessed', suggesting a new addition to their family.

Following this latest social media update, fans' curiosity has naturally been piqued about Abby's relationship with Josh and Brittany's potential role as a guardian to the child - which has not been definitively confirmed as belonging to Abby and Josh yet.

"I have so many questions," one person remarked, while another asked: "Is this their child? Or just babysitting?"

A third person also questioned: "So who had the baby? What happens if only one of them wants to have a child and the other doesn't?"

Although the Hensels have not yet directly addressed these questions, they have previously attempted to dispel various online theories about their relationships.

In their TV series, Abby and Brittany's mother, Patty, once raised questions about potential parenting.

"That is probably something that could work because those organs do work for them," their mother explained at the time.

"Yes, we're going to be moms," Brittany confirmed. "The whole world doesn't need to know who we're dating, what we're doing, and when we'll do it. But trust me, we are completely different individuals."

For context, as Abby and Brittany are dicephalus conjoined twins, they essentially share everything except their hearts, lungs, and stomachs, which are separate.

While one controls the right side of the body, specifically the arm and leg, the other controls the left.

This is why the twins have been able to drive a car, successfully passing their driving tests on their 16th birthdays.

"Abby handles the pedals and the shifter, we both steer, and I manage the blinker and the lights," Brittany explained on the show.

"I wonder what would happen if they were pulled over for speeding," their mother Patty pondered. "Would they both get a ticket, or just Abby since it's her foot on the accelerator?"
